"Material Girls" was a teenage comedy film, starring sisters Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff. It features special performances by Anjelica Huston, Lukas Haas, María Conchita Alonso and Brent Spiner, produced by MGM and co-produced by Patriot Pictures and Maverick Entertainment.
One of the sweetest characters interpreted by our María Conchita, as the protector of the two sisters to whom she will also teach a life lesson.
Tanzie (Hilary) and Ava Marchetta (Haylie) are daughters of the late Victor Marchetta and heirs to his millionaire cosmetics firm. Accustomed to living surrounded by luxury, they fall out of favor when the news reports that one of their products causes a skin reaction. As a result, people stop trusting the brand, stocks plummet, and girls find themselves broke, with no home, no car, no money, and no one to help them. For this reason, they are looking for a solution with which to re-float the Marchetta emporium and prevent Fabiella, enemy and competent principal of the company, from buying the firm for a miserable price. They decide to hire a detective to investigate the case, but having no money, they are forced to do the hard work themselves.
